George Powell, Widower, married Esther Travally (b. 27 Sep 1744), Spinster, then 50, daughter of Winnall Travally and Elizabeth Benbow, at the church of St George in the East, Cannon Street Road, on 10 Aug 1794.
Esther Powell of Anchor and Hope Alley (Wapping) died, aged 77, and was buried at St George in the East, on 30 Dec 1821.
(I think it likely that George Powell was b. Saturday, 12 February 1743, bap. 27 Feb 1743 (at 15 days old) at St George in the East, Stepney, son of Arthur Powell and Jane Kirk of Anchor & Hope Alley. Arthur Powell was described variously as a Carpenter, Joiner and Mariner - presumably ship's carpenter. Requires confirmation. I haven't yet found any clues to George's previous marriage, or if he had children, nor of George's death.)
